So, I’m home now fresh from another venture in the “deep end of the pool” and feeling almost omnipotent… a little vintage Rickie Lee Jones on the stereo… Life is good y’all!!
Lately, I’ve had this fantasy of going to Amsterdam to write my one woman show. (another little project on my “To do” list) I went to Amsterdam back in the late 90’s with an ex boyfriend. It is the only European city that I know my way around, as we traveled there three years consecutively. We had an awful break up on one of those trips (the last one) as he decided to try out one of the legal prostitutes..GRRR… it wasn’t the hooker I minded. What I minded was his passive aggressive punk assed attitude. Hell, I woulda paid to watch! (Oops! TMI) But even that doesn’t color my love for that wonderful city one iota!!
So I fantasize: me, lap top, coffee house, frosted window panes, hot cocoa, tons of insight & inspiration and Amsterdam!!!
Whaddaya think? I opened up my January issue of Elle magazine yesterday and it said: “take a trip – somewhere far away!” That’s a sign right? I never do anything exciting. i’ve never done anything like this before… well, I did stay by myself in Moscow for a week, but I was with the crazy Ukrainian (which was an adventure itself– OOOH so many stories to share!) But this one I’ll be on my own. And I am tempted y’all… truly tempted.
I say do it! I’m heading off to London in March, just as soon as I can decide how much money I really can save!!! The best times are places no one knows your name! LOL
