Last night one of my peers performed on national television on NBC’s The Voice. I watched the video several times and I was so moved by her bravery that I had to write about it. I have known Terisa for years, She is professionally on a higher level than I because she works all the time, has produced her own recordings and sings back up for many recording artists as well. I have always admired her for her drive and her talent. She is truly a force of nature and a kindred spirit – she also struggles with her weight. We have hired the same musicians, know some of the same people – have even played the same rooms. But Terisa is special and different from me because she has the drive and confidence that I sadly struggle with and she has a voice that just slays me. I really think she’s amazing.
What makes a star? Talent, perseverance, skill and balls. Terisa has all this. She is so great that I can’t even be jealous or envious. She deserves this and more. I admire this woman’s talent. All the best from my heart to Terisa Griffin.
