I had a dream about Roger Ebert the other day. It wasn't a bad dream - he didn't die in the dream but it did involve my witnessing his health struggles. The dream disturbed me so much that I had to share it with my friend Barb. And then today he announced in his blog that he is "slowing down" and taking "a leave of presence." (Leave it to Roger. It's been a busy few weeks. I have had some great gigs. Our private and corporate gigs which besides providing most of my income, also bring a lot of joy. You know how I like the challenge of crafting the perfect party vibe. Last Saturday was a particular challenge and triumph. We performed at a huge gala for a local Chicago hospital. I just got home from the second installment in the "Cities of Love" Movies: "New York, I love You" Just like "Paris, Je T'aime" New York, I love You is a film featuring eight minute shorts directed by different director's with an all-star cast. The texture of this film was grittier, more... you know... New York. There were some repeat of themes: married couples role playing, a child care person's life as servant vs. their own world, love, and the city. New York seemed so full and so alive. …
