The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl: No Girdle today!

June 14, 2018 By //  by Lynne Jordan

As I prepared this morning for my noon o'clock concert I reached for the long summer gown (with sleeves) and sandals to perform in, then I looked at the support garment (girdle) that I was planning to wear under it and then I glanced at the more athletic wear (wicking fabric long shorts and loose flowing brightly colored tunic) folded neatly, alongside sneakers which give me much needed support for my knees. I thought to myself: "standing elegantly but constricted in cute flat sandals with …

The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl: In the Groove, Feeling the Positive Effects of Moving My Body.

May 13, 2015 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I'm in the groove. Six weeks of fitness and there's no sign of me stopping yet. I have been hauling my ass to The Spa at Trump every week, for one hour, three times a week of intense fitness training - intense for a fat broad who hadn't moved her keister in about six years! And I am accountable to my giver of this great gift and the 3000+ Facebook followers who have been tracking my progress. At first I wasn't going to tell anyone. I thought: 1. Who Cares? 2. I didn't want to be one of those …

The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl โ€“ The Reboot!

April 2, 2015 By //  by Lynne Jordan

Well, I'm back to it again. I have officially decided to get healthy. Only this time I'm getting help and I am accountable to someone. Today marked my first session with a trainer and a fitness team. It all started in February while visiting my dear friends in Colorado. My friend is 83 years old and works out every day, still works, plays golf and skis. He's strong and fit. And I don't mean fit for an 80 year old. I mean fit. He's like a father to me and with that loving role comes brutal …

Been meaning to write but inexplicably unable to do so

May 25, 2011 By //  by Lynne Jordan

The title of this blog is taken from one of my favorite greeting cards. I wrote a different title back in March, shortly after my last post and saved it as a draft. The title was The Ugly Truth. Just a title no content. It's probably better that I didn't post it. I can't really remember what I was going to write about then. I take clues from my tags that I had in place: diet, diet & exercise, personal growth, plus-sized women's issues blah blah blah. I can imagine what the post was to be …

People Will Stare.

November 25, 2010 By //  by Lynne Jordan

Venus of Willendorf, 22,000B.C.E One of the great joys of the Spa at Trump - besides the luxury, great staff and amenities - is the fact that the locker room is often empty. It's huge and there are plenty of places for the modest naked woman to change in complete solitude. I usually show up in the middle of the day when most folks are working and I have the entire place to myself or so it seems. That pleases me. But on this particular day, I get to the spa closer to the end of the workday …
