Some Great Movies Lately.

July 14, 2010 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I have experienced some wonderful movies lately. Some are being released on DVD, some are still in theaters. Here are just a few of my favorites! I have included links to most of the official websites of the films listed below so you can go check out the trailers and so on. I will try to give a brief description of the movies but mostly I want you to just take my word for it! Ha! …

Roger Ebert

April 10, 2010 By //  by Lynne Jordan

It is always great to receive the love and support of friends and fans alike. And sometimes a person of prominence takes an interest in promoting your talent and will enrich your life just by their say so. That is my great fortune. Roger Ebert the great film critic, writer, screen writer, artist (Yeah, he can draw too!) and intellect - who also happens to be funny as hell - is one such person in my life. I want to talk about Roger Ebert. …

Precious, the Movie

November 16, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I was watching a clip from the Ellen Degeneres Show in which she is interviewing Gabourey Sadibe, the actress who portrays "Precious" in the movie. Ellen kept saying "it's so sad"... "the topic is so depressing..." and all I kept thinking to myself was: "Stop saying that! This movie is not depressing!" "Precious" is not a depressing movie because the character is not a tragic figure. She is a survivor. …

Some Great Movies.

November 6, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I have been back at it folks - going to the movies. I had a moment there (about a month or two) where I didn't see shit, but I'm over that now. The thing is you gotta go every week to keep up with the indie and foreign flicks cause some of them stay at the theater less than a week. Oy! One day I will OD on buttered popcorn. I've put together a short list of some movies that stick in my mind. Some of these films are long gone from Chicago theaters. You will have to rent them or wait for the …

Paris, Je T’aime – watch it, rent it. own it!

October 28, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I'm watching: "Paris, Je T'aime" (Paris, I love you.) 2006 C'est magnifique! 20 different directors each filming one five minute movie (2 days shoot time allowed) including the likes of The Coen Bros, Wes Craven, Gurinder Chadha, Nobuhiro Suwa, to name a few. They are all film shorts, in and about Paris and featuring a multi- national cast. I am enjoying it very much! Tales of love, heartache, humor, fantasy and bit of tragedy, all created by 20 different film makers, each one showing their …
