Persepolis, Marjane Setrapi, Iran

July 8, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

This is an essay written by Marjane Setrapi, the creator of Persepolis (both the graphic novel and Oscar nominated animated feature) who is living in exile in France. I was wondering what she thought of the protests in Iran, as she grew up during the Shah's reign & the Islamic Revolution. Check out Persepolis on DVD if you can... it is wonderful! Marjane's Op Ed Essay in the New York Times Persepolis Movie Site …

Sarah Palin Resigns

July 3, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I tell ya folks, you can never sleep past noon in these times!! You wake up and the world has changed!!! Regarding Mrs. Palin and her resignation - color me "surprised." Frankly, I don't trust that hag. The fact that she was not laughed off the stage has always troubled me. Every time I look around I catch a glimpse of her twirling a baton in the wings... June 30, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I had a blast! We did a two hour concert on Sunday night and I gotta tell ya... it's been a long time. It's a totally different vibe. Performing a concert on a big open stage for two hours is no joke. It's hard work cause every gesture, every movement must be so big - just so the audience can see ya. And I am running all over the stage - can't help myself. BUT it showed me that I am an outta shape cow. (meant in only the most favorable sense to any other cows reading this) The work was …

Iran

June 22, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I just viewed some of the footage shot by civilians (via cell phones) during the recent crackdown by Iran's Revolutionary Guard against the street demonstrations that have risen in Iran during the past week. The people are protesting what they see as a fixed election result. The recent "landslide" election victory of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi (the expected winner) has the Iranian people calling "foul!" and they aren't taking this one sitting …
