October 26, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I saw a huge (tall & muscular) barefoot black man in a diaper (with baby bonnet and bottle) running around the Green Dolphin Street night club on Boom Boom Room night. I asked him who he was... he pulled out a photo of Madonna, pointed at it and said in a baby voice: "MA-MA" It was right after Madonna had adopted her little baby from Malawi. I almost died laughing! Please share some of your most memorable Halloween costume memories! …

October 26, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

It was inevitable. We are 48 years old. There are five of us bemoaning our advancing age, aches and waistlines. And there were reading glasses appearing out of nowhere! …

I have been walking by it for days - months - years, but today I walked right up to it. Pulled the cobwebs off (literally), dusted off the seat and mounted my stationary bike. And I rode. I used to ride the thing for sixty minutes at a time back in the day, followed by free weights, the Bowflex and all kinds of core work. It's amazing how far I regressed into the non active lifestyle and the bad eating habits. But not today! Seriously folks, there were cobwebs on my work out equipment! …

Persepolis, Marjane Setrapi, Iran

July 8, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

This is an essay written by Marjane Setrapi, the creator of Persepolis (both the graphic novel and Oscar nominated animated feature) who is living in exile in France. I was wondering what she thought of the protests in Iran, as she grew up during the Shah's reign & the Islamic Revolution. Check out Persepolis on DVD if you can... it is wonderful! Frankly, I don't trust that hag. The fact that she was not laughed off the stage has always troubled me. Every time I look around I catch a glimpse of her twirling a baton in the wings... (I like my imagery better than her basketball analogy) So, is there some huge scandal about to surface? Or did her small taste of …
