The Gits and Mia Zapata

December 1, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

It told the story of the 1993 murder & rape of an up and coming singer named Mia Zapata. My curiosity was peaked and so I googled "Mia Zapata" and found that there had been a film made entitled "The Gits" that documented not just …

Fosse On My Mind

November 29, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I went to a dance concert tonight. Talk about a change of pace! The Thodos Dance Chicago performed their Winter concert at the 1500 seat Harris Theater in the Millenium Park Arts complex. The company has been around for 18 years. I had never heard them but my BFF Barbara was quite enthused and roped me in. A huge attraction of the concert was the collaboration with the legendary choreographer Bob Fosse's muse Anne Reinking to present the "Fosse Trilogy" which showcased choreography Fosse …

I have also been self-reflective. And I have decided that I am a very fortunate person. So no more whining (if I can help it) There is so much to be thankful for. Here's hoping everyone out there is enjoying the week. Remember: don't sweat the small stuff. There are people out there who are …

Like No Business I know

November 22, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I had a great day at the studio - mostly because I actually agreed to do it - and also because the producer really knows his shit and he approached me by saying: "Lynne I have a spot that you'd be perfect for!" …

butterflies

November 19, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I have a recording session tomorrow and it's kinda important, I mean it could lead to something important. I haven't been in the studio for ages. I'm excited, nervous and a little bit scared. What if I am only... okay? You know how I cling to my comfort zone... …
