I woke up on July 4th bright eyed and bushy tailed. I had a lovely breakfast (room service) and got ready to go downstairs for our 1pm pick up for soundcheck. I couldn't wait for the guys to see the grounds and the Ambassador's house. We pull up to the gate and of course get stopped by security. Gee, that sounds impressive! It was one of the nicest evenings I've had in awhile. So we (The Shivers and I) get to the hotel and as you know, I was exhausted. I took a thirty minute nap before I had to jump up and get dressed for dinner. I was so stressed out about what to wear. I made it! I am writing from my hotel room in Ottawa, Ontario right before I fall out on the bed for a quick nap before the Ambassador's dinner... I sang at the Drake last night to 12:30am and then home to freak some more over clothing choices for this weekend's events. Happy July 4th Weekend Folks!!! It's a great time for getting together and enjoying Summer. And we have a humdinger of a gig this weekend. We have been asked to perform at the July 4th Program being held at the U.S. Ambassador to Canada's residence in Ottawa, Ontario. Ambassador Jacobson is from Chicago and was appointed to this post by President Obama last year.
