Go See: New York, I Love You.

October 29, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I just got home from the second installment in the "Cities of Love" Movies: "New York, I love You" Just like "Paris, Je T'aime" New York, I love You is a film featuring eight minute shorts directed by different director's with an all-star cast. The texture of this film was grittier, more... you know... New York. There were some repeat of themes: married couples role playing, a child care person's life as servant vs. their own world, love, and the city. New York seemed so full and so alive. …

Paris, Je T’aime – watch it, rent it. own it!

October 28, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I'm watching: "Paris, Je T'aime" (Paris, I love you.) 2006 C'est magnifique! 20 different directors each filming one five minute movie (2 days shoot time allowed) including the likes of The Coen Bros, Wes Craven, Gurinder Chadha, Nobuhiro Suwa, to name a few. They are all film shorts, in and about Paris and featuring a multi- national cast. I am enjoying it very much! Tales of love, heartache, humor, fantasy and bit of tragedy, all created by 20 different film makers, each one showing their …

It was inevitable. We are 48 years old. There are five of us bemoaning our advancing age, aches and waistlines. And there were reading glasses appearing out of nowhere! …

ain’t nothing but a number

September 21, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

"Age ain't nothing but a number." That's what a twenty something said to me last week. I laughed. And as I glanced around the tavern and bopped to the music ( a "top forty" tune that I loved singing with my band) I realized that maybe it was true. "You're as young as you feel!" Well, in that case, I am about one hundred years old yesterday. Seriously folks, I feel pretty young. I don't feel like I'm approaching fifty (in two years) So it was with much amusement that I noticed the …

Birthdays are for kids – and I feel like one today!

July 16, 2009 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I am so excited!! I just received a bouquet of cookies for my birthday!! The delivery man was quite determined that I get them. He called twice and rang my buzzer several times. I was sleeping (picture me with a cheetah print eye mask that reads Queen) and was quite perturbed that I was awakened. I push the eye mask up, stumble to the door, wiping my eyes and yawning. I look out my peephole and I am greeted by this: SURPRISE!! It was sent by the hostess at whose party I am performing …
