I Survived a Weekend of Performing in 90+ Degree Heat!

July 7, 2017 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I was worried. Real worried. But I prepared. I went to the gym, worked out with my wonderful friend and fitness trainer Jeremy, who was mindful of what I was facing. I think he was a bit concerned too - and wth good reason. I am a 55 year old obese woman with two bum knees and I was scheduled to do two days of back to back outdoor performance in the heat and a private event. But I did the work. …

Baby, it’s hot out there!

June 9, 2017 By //  by Lynne Jordan

How does one dress to perform outdoors in 90+ degree temperatures? Make-up, eyelashes, feathers, girdles ...I don't think so! Hydration is key, and nutrition (protein) - Once, I sang in the heat on an empty stomach ... bad move. …

The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl: France, July 2015, Heat, Pain, Endurance and how I got through it!

August 26, 2015 By //  by Lynne Jordan

Time to get real with you. The Chateau de Blandy Les Tour was wonderful. The Opera "Don't Worry, Be HaRpy" was gorgeous and a great collaboration. I don't want to sound like a whiner but my last trip to France was tough! Heat, exhaustion, knee pain and obesity made it a real test of endurance for me. I KNOW that my fitness journey made it possible for me to persevere. Up until I started my fitness program, I was almost totally sedentary. All of the things that I mentioned above (except for the …

The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl: Documenting My Weight Journey for My One Woman Show.

May 23, 2015 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I've been up for ages this morning writing the hardest piece ever for my show. It has always been the one story that I knew I had to tell yet the most difficult to complete. The topic of weight is so multifaceted for me. There are so many approaches I can take. Every time I think I've nailed it I find yet another level to explore. My fitness program has led to yet another approach to the telling of this story. Do I keep the story as is with the fitness thing as a mere mention, or do I insert …

The Adventures of Permanent Lifestyle Change Girl: In the Groove, Feeling the Positive Effects of Moving My Body.

May 13, 2015 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I'm in the groove. Six weeks of fitness and there's no sign of me stopping yet. I have been hauling my ass to The Spa at Trump every week, for one hour, three times a week of intense fitness training - intense for a fat broad who hadn't moved her keister in about six years! And I am accountable to my giver of this great gift and the 3000+ Facebook followers who have been tracking my progress. At first I wasn't going to tell anyone. I thought: 1. Who Cares? 2. I didn't want to be one of those …
