I have never felt the loss of an outgoing President and First Lady more in my life. I talk to my friends and family and they are genuinely frightened and dreading this new regime. I try to be hopeful and accepting but there is a constant feeling of dread of the unknown and I can't help feeling that I am being naive when I try to be optimistic. Just watched forty-nine minutes of video on C-Span.org. It was a broadcast of the program portion of the White House Correspondents Dinner. The event's participants is part A-List (there was a red carpet) part hard journalists', part scholarship program (more than a dozen college students in journalism were recipients) and very crowded.
