This is some scary stuff. Oftentimes, I shrug these things off, perhaps foolishly, but this time, so soon after the many attacks on innocents around the globe, I am worried, saddened - aware. But, even as the real haters of the world continue to threaten us, and challenge our joy of life, I will continue to love and hope. I wish us all safe travels and enjoyment as the Holiday Season approaches. I can't help but think of a verse from my Mother's favorite Psalm 23:4 "Yea, though I walk through …
The New York Chronicles: 36 Hours in the Big Apple, Part One.
I had a 6AM flight. I did not sleep the night before and so I traveled to NYC on no sleep. I got picked up by a dear soul (my friend Lisa) who brought me "snacks for the plane!" who offered to come round for me at 4:30am. (I'd have to mention the other angel in my life: BFF Brenda who gave me cash so I wouldn't be totally broke on my trip.) Zigis drives me to the Riga airport which seems surprisingly pleasant today - I have quite a different attitude then when I arrived here …
Hell Ride Continued…
The plane takes off and sounds like what I can only describe as the Empire State Building being dropped into a cement mixer. After about four years, the heat kicks in with the smell of alien fossil fumes. And then, as if on cue, …
The Flight to Riga: Code Name – Hell Ride
I am so exhausted that I can not think straight as I make my way to the gate for my flight to Riga. I keep thinking that I've lost my passport though it is in my handy passport/ ticket/ wallet holder that is hanging around my neck. I've been up about 24 hours at this point. Boarding is announced and I dutifully follow the lead of my fellow passengers down the frigging stairs. I am lugging my carry-on (which at this point weighs 2000 pounds) to the outside. Remember, Stockholm is freezing! …
