Lounging with Lynne:
Me and a trio of Shivers perform live and intimately at the Green Dolphin Street – cabaret style. “I will sing what I want to sing,” tell stories, make you laugh and maybe even cry, but you will be entertained! 7-10P No Cover. Come and enjoy a meal as I explore a new side of my performing self.
Thursday April 15 House of Blues – Chicago 329 N. Dearborn St., Chicago. Me and the Shivers rip it up at the HOB – one of the few public venues that the I perform in on a regular basis. The HOB really is “my house.” The food, the room, the artwork and the staff is so familiar and so fun. We always have a ball here and it is set up like a classroom – well kinda, in my mind: we are at the front of the room and the audience sits before us. I have a total view of my crowd, like a teacher has eyes over her students. It makes for some great entertaining and interactions! The night usually transforms into a big dance party. But you never know what you’re gonna get at the HOB because of the tourist factor. Sometimes you get a a roomful of men who just want to be entertained and aren’t up for dancing, though sometimes we can motivate dancing in that scenario as well. My observation over many years is this: women will get up and dance together in a group. Women, gay men, really fun people, and Deadheads will always get up and dance without a partner. I love it! Did I mention the food? 9p -1:30 am cover
MAY

Always a big dance party at the Green Dolphin Street.
Saturday May 15 The Green Dolphin Street 2200 N Ashland Ave., Chicago 8-11pm cover: $20
My absolute favorite room because I do feel so at home here. I’ve known the owners for 20 years and most of the staff are my good friends. The place is classy and gorgeous and the room is elegant. I just “own the joint” in spirit when I’m performing there. I have often had moments of brilliance whilst performing at the Dolphin. It is always a dual vibe: full on cabaret and major dance party! I always bring the horns to this show. It’s also the most important gig for fans to show up at because I have to pay the band with whatever money is made at the door and I give the band a guarantee because I want to make sure it’s worth their while to play. I am always worried that I will have to dig in my pocket to pay the guys. I try not to think about it in these economic times…

This is the ultimate Chicago Summer Party. Come early, stake your claim at one of the many chair/table/ picnic benches and sit back and relax.
