Me & the boys had another great rehearsal tonight. We had some special song requests from wedding clients that we went over today and one of the songs was “Sherry” by Fankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The whining I heard from my band about learning “Sherry” – “that’s some cheesy shit man!” – was even more shrill than the falsetto Frankie Valli sings on the damn song!!
However, as we joked our way through it and began working on the vocal harmonies it became apparent that maybe it wasn’t so “cheesy” or easy after all. And you know what? They started arguing over the vocal parts and started talking about maybe doing “moves!” It was really fun and I can’t wait to perform it!! As most of you know, the Shivers can sing some great harmonies together and well, it’s gonna be a blast!! Showbiz… I love my band!! Now, we may consider some “Temptations” songs too, cause those boys love to sing well, and with Ray running the vocal rehearsals (he is used to teaching vocal parts to choirs for church) we can work up some great shit! Stay tuned!
