I’m still unpacking and compiling my notes from Ebertfest 2009. I intend to add more detailed postings about the films and experiences. However I realize that now that I’ve returned to Chicago, it’s business as usual and I’ve got even less time than when I had a full day of screenings! OY!
Saw BFF Barb’s wonderful play: Seanachi Theater Company’s production of “Our Father” at the Atlantic (an Irish bar in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood) The audience sits in the midst of an Irish wake (the action takes place all around us as we sip our drinks and munch our food) while the deceased’s adult children take turns expounding on their tough love – “mean” (we would read abusive) – father who was “never unemployed, always put food on the table and managed a a few rags on our backs.”
More on that later…
In the meantime: enjoy this photo of me singing “If I Can’t Sell It” to Roger Ebert at a party during Ebertfest 2005. Funny thing, I always thought that I sat on Roger’s lap during that song!

Great photo! What fun! Glad you enjoyed yourself!
I’m between visits to the pool…..Had class for an hour
then they close down for 2 hours so elementary kids can
have their learn to swim class. This means I have to go back
for my daily workout. This is humbug as I am also getting ready for my trip and have to spend another day making dog food packets for their boarding. Oh boo hoo, no one cares!
Looking forward to more missives about your fun time! XOXO A hui hou!
