And I really tried to psyche myself up for packing for this trip cause it’s gonna be such an exciting adventure… but packing for a couple of nights is awful when the weather transitions dab smack in the middle of the trip!
The temperatures will go from 38 degrees on Wednesday night to 81 degrees on Friday! OY!
But I am still excited about this trip. I got someone to house sit for me. I am going alone. I am gonna see movies all day long. I am staying in a hotel. I will be around movie people. I will see Roger Ebert. I’m even excited to be riding a train!! I don’t know quite what to expect.
And so the Ebertfest adventure begins …Stay tuned!!

Packing is worse than bamboo shoots under the nails. I have to pack for my traveling companion who can’t figure out what to pack if life depended upon that skill. When you travel from Hawaii to your region it becomes even more difficult at any time of the year especially in November. May is a bit easier but you still never know when the winds of change will come and sock it to you with cold ugly weather. This trip will be even more difficult as we are staying for 10 days at a place with no washer and dryer (don’t ask……..it’s going to be a really hard trip)
so wise choices are going to be crucial to survival.
Having a house sitter can be great or not, I’ve had both sides. Just setting the alarm will work and have neighbors come over to check on things every now and then will help. It’s just getting everything else in place, hiring a temp. pool man, making 32 portions of dog food and their pills and all that is time consuming, checklists are a must!
I know you are having a great time at the fest and memories are being made! Enjoy! A hui hou!
