Just watched forty-nine minutes of video on C-Span.org. It was a broadcast of the program portion of the White House Correspondents Dinner. The event’s participants is part A-List (there was a red carpet) part hard journalists’, part scholarship program (more than a dozen college students in journalism were recipients) and very crowded. It looked like fun to me.
Our President Barack Obama released his wickedly funny self but the true hag was my girl Wanda Sykes… She said some awfully wicked shit about Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, McCain…Phew! And she poked good fun at the Pres himself and the First Lady Michelle Obama.

President Barack Obama was hilarious. He started by saying he was gonna talk from the heart and not use his scheduled speech. Then two tele-prompters rose from the stage floor. He mentioned that Melia & Sasha were absent from the dinner because of their being grounded for taking out Air Force One and doing a fly-by over Manhatten…
He ragged on Limbaugh, Republican Party, McCain and Fox News – all in good intelligent fun. It is a great thing to see how clever and relaxed our President is. It really was a great way to spend 50 minutes. You can pick and choose which segments you want to watch (individually they are considerably shorter!)
