Lynne Jordan | A Great Big Diva

Nothing Beats a Great Audience!

May 11, 2010 By //  by Lynne Jordan

And that’s what we had at The Cubby Bear Lounge last night.  The Cubby Bear is a cavern like super sports bar but it doesn’t have the feeling of the typical and often generic sports bar.  I think it must be the imprint left by all of the great music that has been played there over the years! I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers there in the 80’s and sang there with two Chicago Based power bands several years later:  Urge Overkill and Material Issue. It is located across the street from Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.  Like most die hard sports fans, Cub fans are notoriously rowdy party animals.  The gig is called the “Post-game show” and we start at the bottom of the 9th inning and continue as the fans file out of Wrigley Field.  The doors are wide open and the funky, driving sounds of Lynne Jordan & the Shivers fills the air.

To my wary friends who recoiled at the thought of going to the Cubby Bear:

“Ewww, it’s going to be a zoo!  So many young people! So crowded! I don’t want to see you there with all of that crowd!”

I say to you:  The Cubby Bear is the one place you must see Lynne Jordan & the Shivers perform.

Between the killer sound system and built in enthusiasm of the Cubs fans – what’s not to like?  The energy of that crowd was electric and motivated everyone in my band to give their all.  Nothing beats playing to a crowd of screaming, dancing, reciprocal people who just can’t get enough.  You just wanna give ’em more and more to make them scream.  It really is like making love. I love my job!

Whoo hoo!

I’m a Die Hard Cub Fan who loves the Cubby Bear and can feel that boomin’ sound of Lynne Jordan & the Shivers rolling across Clark! As an older broad I never let the age of the party bother me much. Every night with this group is special! Don’t miss any of these opportunities music lovers. Last night was rockin’ and you missed it! Just imagine if the Cubs had won!!!!!
I felt that from near St. Louis!! Things in life can keep us from where we want to party!! Get out there while Lynne and the Shivers are rockin’ with y’all !!!!
