But last Saturday, after a particularly great gig with the boys (the Shivers), I went to the Dolphin for their late night dance party and had a blast!! I caught up with all my buds and went out for the obligatory 6AM breakfast. Then Monday found me at BFF Barb’s play “Our Father” and then off to Boom Boom Room – back at the Dolphin. It’s such a wild mix of characters and they are all really good fun – loving folks. It’s a big love fest. Great night again. I missed it.
I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps lately – the dump being my house. I haven’t been going out lately, which as some of you know is a bit unusual for me. It was my usual pattern to finish singing on any given night and then head to one of the four or five o’clock bars for a nightcap and socializing. But since late Summer I have been going home. I was still a night owl though, just not a social one. I thought it was a good thing and for awhile it was. I mean how much partying can a middle aged broad do? Right?

Hey Lynne,
Frankly,a middle-aged broad can party quite a lot! Seriously, I’ve gone through this too and I think it has a lot to do with personality and where you are in your life. I need a certain amount of mental stimulation, which I usually get from socializing, going to plays, concerts and galleries. But when I overdo it, I feel like withdrawing. Then I’m holed up and feel myself going crazy. I think balance is the key with everything. You don’t have to go out every night but don’t stay home every night either.
Lynne
That is it exactly!! Thanks for the comment Fly Girl!!
