New Day

always good for a laugh: the M&M’s in Times Square.

And a weird one!! I fell asleep with Let The Right One In on DVD and I woke up feeling a bit weird.

Lesson: Never fall asleep with an artsy Vampire movie on in the background – in Swedish!

Well, tomorrow is the big day – House of Blues gig. I am hoping a lot of people show up. I never worried about the HOB gig in the past as it was always the most relaxed for me. Everything has changed. They lowered the pay too. I was told that the restaurant has been so slow lately that they had to drop the band pay rate. Trust me folks, the pay was low to start with but actually paid better than a lot of clubs. We are not talking thousands here. We ain’t even talking high hundreds! But it is, what it is, and we like playing the room and the gig. So, here is another time to say:

That’s showbiz!!…no business like it, no business at all…

You can name your own price (or at least negotiate) when you bring in the numbers.

I’m feeling a bit down these days, financials are tight; show biz is a pain in the ass, I’m fat – lonely and my house is a mess!! But I will feel better tomorrow I reckon, after I sing.

Caught a great film last night: Lymelife. The story had great characters and a wonderful cast. The ending drove me crazy. I am sure the film makers wanted a different effect. But the ending annoyed me.
