There are some great ones out there folks!! I have been on a roll lately. Mostly I’ve been seeing indie & art films only because you gotta catch ’em when they come cause they don’t stay long – in and out in a week sometimes!
My favorites:
Happy Go Lucky: from the UK. happy, lovely, cool female lead character who encounters many sides of London life and is just a great girl wih a great attitude and you have fun with her.
Rachel Getting Married: Fabulous!!! Anne Hathaway rocks this one out! See Debra Winger as adult middle aged woman. I swear I only see her as the ingenue in Legal Eagles (80’s film opposite Robert Redford). Great family drama dynamics played out beautifully. Multi cultural cast and a wedding I would love to have been invited to… The great thing is – you are there!
Religulous: HYSTERICAL!! A must see if you aren’t too sensitive re: religious skeptics and have an irreverent sense of humor. Basically: if you get Bill Maher then you will love this film!!
Ballast: This film (by a first time director) is being hailed as a masterpiece at film festivals around the world. I liked it very much.
Soul Men: I miss Bernie Mac. And I know he & Samuel Jackson had a blast cussin’ each other out and acting silly during this fun romp of a movie.
About to go see another one: Synecdoche, New York with Phillip Seymour Hoffman. BFF Brenda just saw it and loved it. And she hates everything! haha!! Well, she hated the Little Mermaid…

I wonder what other personal blogger on the entire Web has such good taste in movies? I’ve never found one.

I look forward to seeing Philip Seymor Hoffman in another fine performance. It has just opened here in Cincinnati and I’ll see it Sunday evening. Another film that I can’t wait for is “Slumdog Millionaire.” That film has particular interest for me as I’ll be travelling to Mumbai for the first time in February!

Philip kicks serious butt in this one (no surprise there!) I hope to see Slumdog tonight. It opened here on Wednesday. Lucky you to get to travel to Mumbai… Take photos and share please! Thanks for writing.
