Lip synching the anthem

Well, I found out that Jennifer Hudson lip synched the anthem during the Superbowl.
My reaction is simply: No wonder she sang it so perfectly.

One of my friends is very upset by this whole thing.
I feel cheated! I felt this emotionality and come to find out she was acting!

Well, yeah, I guess you can say that.

Once, shortly after 9/11, I was singing the anthem and I got so emotional that I openly sobbed in the middle of the tune. (brought the house down. No one minded the bawling) Personally I would have gotten all choked up if I had sung it that night at the Superbowl, what with Obama’s victory and… well… that song just kills me.

I don’t feel strongly about her lip synching the tune. I read that the “powers that be” made her lip synch.

Show business: there’s no business like it, no business at all.

Personally, I am comforted to know that this 27 year old doesn’t have super powers. Cause it seemed pretty amazing to me that this girl walked out there on that field and nailed that tune the way she did. I must admit that I have screwed it up three times: (out of about twenty five public renditions)

1. & 2. started too low twice. Both times because I feared my voice would crack when the song modulates…
3. my voice cracked once (OY! I still shudder at the thought of it)

Those three disasters have scarred me!
