I just completed the second day of staying off of my left knee. No running errands, standing, walking city blocks or climbing stairs. And I have been applying cold and heat to my knee regularly. I must report that the swelling is gone and so are the sharp pains. However, I am not confidant that this will last. But it hasn’t felt this close to normal (normal occasional pain) in over a week so I feel a tiny bit hopeful. I have cautious hope. But I know that I must make an appointment with my ortho surgeon doctor friend and he will probably deliver some scary news to me that involves the word surgery … or maybe not. I dread it but I must take care of this asap if any invasive procedures are necessary. Maybe I will just need physical therapy! A girl can dream, can’t she?
My BFF Babs brought me toilet paper and soup and some other necessities – bless her sweet soul. And thanks to cable, dvd’s and the internet, I have had plenty to keep me entertained. Plus being home has given me the time to do a lot of business which is always a good thing. I hired a messenger service to pick up some business stuff that needed to be delivered so all is well on that front. I have one more day of this idleness and then I must take care of some important things that require me to leave the house. (my nails, my brows Ha!) I will call for a taxi so that walking will be minimal. I think I might stop by the Spa for some water therapies (hydrotub) and a swim in the pool.
I will keep you posted.

Glad Barbara is pitching in. Faithful friends are hard to find in such situations. So happy you have gotten some relief. Tell Barbara hello from me!

eh, never delay what you must know… They could have drained that knee by now and you could have been walking around. Most likely it’s fluid build up that is adding pressure on your joints. The issue is is that fluid normal or not. Meaning is it infected, go to the doctor!!

Fluid on the knee. I have had meniscus tear, arthritic episode and a few other diagnosis which all may result in the “water on the knee scenario.” Now for an ortho’s diagnosis! EEK! Have you had the fluid drain procedure? Is it super painful?

Oh, the joys of getting older. I hope your po ol knee feels better..aches and pains are a real bitch. I can’t imagine being immobile. Don’t do more than you have to. The spa may just help…
