Yep, the House of Blues gig was just what I needed to slap me back to reality.
Yeah, they lowered the pay.
Gosh, I’m lucky that people are willing to pay me and my band to basically have fun. Because despite the hard work that it is – performing is fun.
There was some sort of convention in town (the alternative power industry) and there were corporate mens a-plenty in the joint – happy, drunk, music loving men – other folks as well. We had a blast. I even lost myself in a few tunes. And the guys were in the zone. The zone can be described only as that place where you are working on instinct, vibes and feeling only. You are aware of positive energy from the audience but often times you just keep playing, singing, dancing until you look up, sweat drenched, soar or dizzy, and realize the rest of the world exists and may have been watching.
I was elated after the House of Blues gig and they upped the ante on their dinner menu also. I was so happy to have my cousin Kecia, BFF Avis, Web Manager Adrienne, Tiombe and long time kindred spirit Suzanne Fushi. And I sang in my sneaks. That is something I have never done in the past but I was so comfortable that I danced and moved all over the place… UH OH….. You can take the glittery heels off my feet but I will always be diva-licious!!!
I went out afterwards to celebrate my happiness. Whoo hoo!

Right on…it’s good to have an occasional gig that’s just for you, for your creative self and soul…I love you, Lynne. Remember…you can do anything…even in your sneakers!
