It was one of the most fun wedding parties ever. The guests would cheer out loud at every tune we played. The setting was lovely. The reception was at a restaurant that is situated on the Chicago River right in the middle of downtown. They have a gorgeous terrace that sits literally in the middle of the city’s skyline. What a view! The venue placed beds and chairs and couches out along the terrace – all illuminated by candlelight.
Did I mention the kilts? Now I have seen men in Kilts before but these guys were smoking hot. It was so special, so exotic, so sexy!! Throw in those accents for good measure. The bride’s girlfriends were drooling. She picked a plum and we all knew it. The groom’s brother joined in with the band, played guitar and sang. The groom joined us on a tune also.
“I will walk five hundred miles and I will walk 500 hundred more…”
They were very drunk. It was a gorgeous moment. The Shivers loved it too. Never seen my guys smile so much and have so much fun. We played Jayz & Alicia Key’s tune “Empire State of Mind” (unrehearsed) and it went beautifully. My guys rock!!
Tonight we play another wedding. This one is a Jewish wedding at a downtown hotel. It will be totally different and I hope, just as fun. I don’t know… last night’s wedding was real special. Folks were dancing all over the place!
Well, I gotta get going – can’t wait to see how this party turns out. I got my evening gown ready, support garments laid out (girdle) and my music book changed up for tonight’s requests, timeline and such.
