And once again, I find myself in the lap of a luxury spa hotel. This time it’s the Trump International Hotel & Tower, Chicago. The completed structure will have over 90 floors with hotel rooms on the lower floors 14 – 27. Did I mention that this place ain’t even finished yet? Did that stop him from opening the hotel anyhow? Hell NO!!
This lovely hotel has stolen my heart. I have never been more pampered and VIP’d in my life. I know that I raved about after my recent stay last month at the Hotel Vitale in San Fran. The Hotel Vitale place was a hit. Trump Tower Hotel Chicago is a Grand slam. And I mean no disrespect to Hotel Vitale. I will never forget the wonderful two nights that I spent there. But the Trump, Oh, the Trump…
I want to add here that until I saw this place, I had no desire or even curiosity about staying at Trump as a guest. I was turned off by Trump’s branding: the odd hairdo, the reality show, the shameless self promotion and all the press and had never experienced any of his works. I was not a Donald Trump fan. But after this experience… call me Team-Trump! All I can say is the man makes beautiful hotels and the culture instilled in the staff… the pride they have in working there… all that shit has impressed me. Call me a material girl, a wannabee… Kiss my ass haters!! I had a ball these past three days.
It’s a tough economy. You got to have an edge, or something special to make it in any business these days. That’s why I ventured to the Trump on Wednesday of last week to drop off my press Kit & dvd to the Director of Events so that we might be placed on the Preferred Vendors list for the hotel. The preferred vendors list is a list of companies (or in my case entertainment) that the Hotel recommends to their clients who are renting the ballroom or having an event at the hotel. It means a lot.
So I went there to generate future income for my group. But the elegance & beauty of the place and friendliness of the staff – especially Head concierge Joseph – drew me in like a trapped rat. And I don’t think they were even trying. They were just being nice. But being the spa and luxury whore that I am… I had to indulge…
I am a sucker for certain things. Just to name a few:
2. Excellent service
3. gorgeous spas
4. luxury
This place has got that and some. I got a brief tour and from the moment they opened doors to the spa (remember the change from black & white to Technicolor in the movie “The Wizard of Oz?”) I was hit with a wide – angle view (from a wall of floor to ceiling windows) of our beautiful city. In fact there are breathtaking views of the city and the Chicago river everywhere you look. Gorgeous!
Every color and texture on every surface is divine. All of the lighting and of course – the aromas – of a well appointed spa were revealed to me. It was dark and inviting; intimate and sexy; elegant and luxurious, and it was all mine.
NOTE: You can buy a membership to the Spa at Trump: access to all of the amenities – Did I MENTION THE HUGE FUCKING GYM??? – big discount on spa services & unlimited guests anytime.
I’M IN.
And so I signed up for Spa services during the day and one night in a “spa room.” I made an appointment for a two – hour deep tissue massage!
My therapist is Rob. Rob is wonderful; spiritual and oh so calming. It was so nice to get a deep tissue massage in which I didn’t spend the whole massage clenching my toes from the pain. I know it’s hard work massaging my body. There is a lot of surface to cover. Most of my therapists are sweating like slaves by the time they are done with me. And that boy was sweatin’! Rob breathes out loud as he works. He exhales audibly as he strokes out the flesh. It’s very calming, centering and well, like everything in the place -sexy.
And I haven’t even seen my room yet!
Focus Girl! Focus!
