Lynne Jordan | A Great Big Diva

Camcorder, Vimeo.com

August 15, 2010 By //  by Lynne Jordan

I received the gift that keeps on giving! I got a camcorder. It is a thing of beauty: high definition, 32GB flash memory and fits in the palm of my hand. Now y’all know how much I love movies so the thought of making my own it very appealing even if they are just amateur home videos. I also discovered the joy of Vimeo.com. Vimeo is a video sharing website that also serves as a social network between video/movie makers and movie lovers. You can upload and share videos and opinions. So far all the work I have seen has been pretty top-notch. This ain’t no Youtube! There are award winning artists and inspired amateurs on here. I had a ball watching all kinds of video shorts. I set up an account but I don’t know how soon I will be uploading video to this site.

I have been shooting the band at the past two weddings we did and it’s been great fun. Shooting video well is not easy at all. I still haven’t mastered the art of the zoom but I’m getting better every time. I need to get out more and shoot the neighborhood, my house (if I ever get it near presentable) and maybe some more of the Cat. Fans are eagerly waiting for the “Shana Punim is taken on a Walk” on HD – coming to a computer screen near you.

In the meantime I am studying the 200 plus pages of the instruction manual as well as the two dozen tutoring videos that will show me how to handle the IMovie editing and storage software.

OY vey! I will keep you posted!
