I also had a lovely conversation with a new friend (Chicago vocalist Andrea Love) who has done a lot of House track vocals and gave me some sound advice. I was feeling a tiny bit anxious over the whole thing cause I didn't quite know how it all worked. The dance music scene is a different animal. The DJ/producer, who lives in Amsterdam, wanted me to listen to the track and come up with the vocals & lyrics! And though it felt like that's the way it works, I had no point of reference. Andrea …
Here Comes The Bride
I am performing at a wedding reception tonight. Some of you might thinking: EEUU!, but I am really grateful for the work. Lots of musicians are not working tonight and I am just feeling grateful that I can still pay my guys good money at this time of year. It is officially our slow season for a couple MORE months.(hope nobody gets on my nerves tonight)I am hoping it'll be one of those crazy ass weddings where we just feel great afterwards. And it does happen. I get a lot of pleasure playing …

You can link to it from this blog entry or just look under "Lynne's Links" to the right margin of this page.my web gallery.mac.com …

It's a story about four boys from da hood (New Jersey) who happen to make it in the music industry. It's funny and human. It's another "American Dream" tale that happens to be true and chock full of great tunes. It never struck me as nostalgic nor corny. I loved it because it was so clever and because the characters use the "F word a lot." These are …
The Crazy Hour
The Crazy HourIt's 3:45AM and I am still wide awake. I hate these wee morning hours when I am home, alone and my mind is a buzz. Mind you, I was creeping in at 5:30AM last night but my mind wasn't a buzz. I was just buzzed. No problem getting to sleep last night. I am starting to freak a bit about my trip: the preparations, getting this damn machine prepped and wondering if I am really crazy for doing this (though according to many friends it is a good thing) and... and... I don't know! That's …
