Another Great Weekend of Performing.

Lynne Jordan & the Shivers had another great weekend of work. I performed at the Drake Hotel on Friday and at a wonderful wedding on Saturday night. And we had a blast! We had to have a sub (substitute) on Bass as Dave had to do an out of town trip with his church. I was a wee bit nervous at first until Raymond told me about the guys he’d hired – two different subs – usually the optimal thing would be to hire one guy for both gigs but these dudes were such pros and so damned brilliant that it didn’t matter: Anderson Edwards and the magnificent Maurice Fitzgerald. And it was awesome to meet some new cats. I am very blessed with my Shivers family but I am also insulated. I don’t really play with anyone else and so I feel like I don’t know anybody. But believe me, they ALL know me by reputation whether good or bad. And that’s scary!

But this weekend my reputation was kept good and solid cause we kicked some serious boo-tay!

The Drake night was almost magical. It felt like New Year’s Eve. Everyone came out and showed me such love! And the guys had a blast too. You know what I say: it’s all about the audience. You can play your ass off but if the crowd ain’t vibing with you – it don’t mean shit. This audience was filled with joy and came to party. I never had so much fun. And the guys kept saying how much fun they had on Friday. Plus Isiah joined us in the fun, which of course takes it all up another level. I gotta tell you folks, we are rocking it out at the Drake!! If you are in the area, please come see us sometime on a Friday night. The room (The Palm Court) is just perfect for me and I love it there! And so do my peeps who come out to see me and they come en masse! Great food, drinks and all that comfortable furniture! Plus me doing my thing with my fabulous band!
