Ready to go

Shana Punim watches me pack with suspicion.
I am packed: clothes, laptop, camera, plugs, adapters, power converters, sheet music, lyrics, feather boa and snow boots. It’s cold in Riga but the weather is better than last week when temperatures barely made it above zero. Now, there’s plenty of snow and highs in the low twenties. It’s practically a heat wave!
Packing stresses me out.
The reason I don’t travel so much is the stress involved with packing or rather, with the thought of packing. I have to pack performance clothes, shoes and everything else – including a virtual apothecary of beauty products. I am trying so hard to not over pack. I have found that when I go anywhere I just end up wearing the same thing anyway. It’s tough being a diva on the road.
Seriously though, I love hotels and I am actually looking forward to my trip.
I just hope that the plane is not full. Oh please Lord, grant me this one wish: an empty seat next to mine. Then I can pull the tray down in front of the empty seat next to me. Gosh, I remember the first time I was able to pull the tray table down in front of me after a significant weight loss… That won’t be the case today I’m sure. Will I need a seat belt extender? OY!
By the way, are Aleve gel capsules considered a liquid?
Time for bed. And the adventure continues…
P.S. Shana Punim knows something is up… I have had to remove her from my suitcase several times. But I have a house sitter coming in and she should be just fine.
