Ebertfest Day 2: Trouble the Water

Well, it did it to me again… I saw Trouble the Water and it made cry – again. The film makers (Carl Deal, Tia Lessin) and subjects (Kim & Scott Roberts) were on hand to introduce the film and afterwards for a Q & A (Richard Roeper was the mediator.)

I had to raise my hand to comment. Back in October I had emailed my review to the Trouble the Water’s Myspace profile and Director Carl Deal wrote me back. And so when I made my comment I mentioned that I had sent an email to Myspace, and he interrupts me:

What’s your name?

…Lynne Jordan…

LYNNE! so good to meet you in person!

It was amazing – in front of all those people!

I didn’t mention that I made a comment last night during the Q & A after Woodstock. I got very emotional. I musta mentioned that I was a musician cause all day today folks kept asking me:

Aren’t you the musician from last night?

I don’t quite remember what I said that night – through my tears, and though I was mortified at the time, I must not have been too much of an idiot, cause folks were like… complimenting me.

I loved your comment!

It’s been one heckuva Festival!!

Anyway, after the Q & A, Ms. Kim did her rap and sista girl rocked the house. She is so real and honest… and confident. I just love her!!

Later, I met up with Kim.

Then I went outside and ran into Tia and Carl, who later gave me a ride to my hotel. Love them!! They live in New York and promise to come see me perform the next time I’m in NYC!!!
